company cancels my term life insurance?

They didn’t send my annual renewal to the correct address, I realized it was unpaid requested reinstatement 3 months…they refused because of my weight. It was the same 4 years ago when they accepted me…my agent says oh well, we’ll get another. Is this legal?
didn’t my agent get a cancelation notice?
so what does the agent get paid a commission for? I thought it was customer service. I recently discovered a home’s insurance had lapsed 5 months ago (we’re the mortgage holder) no one notified the owner or us that it was not insured…the homeowner had no idea they had canceled him but the agent claimed he knew. No one could explain why we weren’t notified. something is wrong here… companies can be sloppy, employees screw it up and no one is accountable.
I notified them for 3 years of the new address on the little paper they send you to note changes. I’m not sure why no one changes my address when I asked them and I’m not sure where all my mail went if not back to the sender. My agent is the same agent for the homeowner they did NOT notify me, I just happened to call and ask. Guess I need a new agent after 30 years for my 6 homes and business insurance.
yesterday my agent called to say usf denied sending me a refusal letter… so I faxed it to her. I requested a refund of the 3 years I did pay since they weren’t insuring me cause of my weight.

Sounds like a case of not wanting to accept responsibility, but to put the blame on the agent or the company.

You’ve had the policy for four years. You knew when the premium was due. Did you not receive a renewal notice? All you had to do was to go see your agent and pay the premium. He would have accepted it.

You as the mortgage holder should have known when the home insurance was due. You should have received a cancellation notice on it, since you hold the deed.

You said the renewal notice wasn’t sent to your correct address. This tells me that you changed addresses since policy inception. Did you notify the company or your agent of the change? They mail to the last known address.

    100% legal

It is legal. The insurance company sends out more than one notice. And, its not your agents job to notify you of the cancellation.

They should accept you if nothing has changed. Does your agent want to write a new policy? Or reinstate the old? You might as well take a new level term policy with level premiums for 20 or 30 years.
