Which life insurance companies in CA have a 1 year suicide clause?

Most have a 2 year clause, but are there any with a 1 year term, Usually, they will not pay out if the client is suspected of suicide within 2 years.

Not in California or anywhere else.

It would make no sense for an insurance company to reduce the period of the suicide exclusion. Doing so would disproportionally attract prospects who are depressed and contemplating suicide.

If you were an insurance company a less restrictive suicide clause would not be the competitive advantage you would be seeking…

I’ve never seen any with a shorter clause than two years.

The suicide clause take effect during the first two years from date of issue. Since your husband had these life insurance policies for 20 years, the insurance company will pay the death claim…. If you’ve not been able to track someone down call and ask for a supervisor, and go up the ladder to the executive offices if necessary. If they put you off for more than sixty days call your state’s department of insurance for assistance.
